AGHOLO FEDERATING COMMUNITIES HONOUR GEORGE TURNAH AT ANNUAL THANKSGIVING


Kolo-Ogbia, Bayelsa State - The people of Agholo federating communities (Kolo 1, Kolo 2 and Kolo 3) in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have honoured their illustrious son, the Zonal Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), South South Zone, and Acting Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa State, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding leadership qualities and sustained commitment to the welfare and development of his people.


The prestigious award was presented during the Annual Thanksgiving Service and Dedication of Agholo Kingdom, an event that brought together traditional rulers, community leaders, political stakeholders, and indigenes of Kolo and the wider Ogbia Kingdom from within and outside the state.


Hon. Turnah, who hails from Kolo, was ably represented at the ceremony by Hon. Aseki Subhami, Coordinator of G-House Ward 9, who received the award on his behalf alongside members of the G-House political family.


Speaking at the event, the Agholo of Agholo, HRM King N.D. Amakuro (Agholo XXIII) commended Hon. Turnah for his consistent support for grassroots development, peace-building, and the promotion of the collective interest of Kolo federating communities, as well as Ogbia Kingdom at large. The revered monarch described him as a worthy ambassador of the people, whose influence and interventions have continued to positively impact lives.


While administering the award, the Obanobhan III of Ogbia Kingdom, His Eminence King Dumaro Charles Owaba, showered encomiums on George Turnah, describing him as a worthy son of Ogbia whose contributions to the growth and wellbeing of the kingdom remain deeply appreciated.


The revered traditional leader lauded Turnah’s consistency, humility, and unwavering dedication to the cause of his people, and urged him not to relent in his selfless service to Ogbia Kingdom. He encouraged him to remain steadfast in his commitment to unity, development, and the upliftment of the people, noting that the honour bestowed on him reflects the collective gratitude and confidence of the kingdom in his leadership and vision.


Hon. Subhami, while conveying the appreciation of Hon. Turnah, thanked the Agholo of Agholo, his council of chiefs, and the entire Agholo Kingdom for the honour, noting that the recognition reflects the deep love and respect the people have for their son. He reaffirmed that Hon. Turnah remains committed to serving his people with humility, integrity, and dedication.


The event witnessed the presence of traditional rulers from across Ogbia Kingdom, community elders, youth leaders, women groups, and a large gathering of indigenes from Kolo at home and in the diaspora, all united in celebrating communal values, gratitude to God, and exemplary leadership.


The award further restates Hon. Turnah’s growing reputation as a grassroots-oriented leader and role model loved by his people, and one whose political journey remains firmly anchored on service, inclusiveness, and the advancement of his people.
