JOY IS COMING: TURNING THE PAGE OF HOPE WITH GEORGE TURNAH, MON

By Kelvin Loveday-Egbo

Every political movement has its defining moment; a time when its survival depends not on numbers but on the courage and clarity of those who lead it. For the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, that defining moment is now, and at the heart of its resurgence stands Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON.

In the wake of the recent resignations of political allies, many fear a setback for the PDP in Bayelsa. But rather than retreat, the party has found new strength, direction, and confidence in the calm, inclusive, and strategic leadership of Hon. Turnah, a leader whose rise has come not by chance, but by capacity.

As both Acting Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa and Zonal Secretary of the PDP in the South South, Turnah combines local influence with national reach; a blend that gives Bayelsa PDP renewed access to the party’s core leadership and the confidence of belonging to the larger picture.

What distinguishes Turnah is his bridge-building ability, his rare skill to connect old and new, young and experienced, even across political divides. In a period when the party could have fractured, he has instead kept the fold together, offering direction, reassurance, and hope.

His leadership has also attracted renewed energy to the PDP structure in Bayelsa, inspiring confidence among members and stakeholders who see in him a symbol of the party’s rebirth. As one observer puts it, “George Turnah is not just leading the PDP in Bayelsa; he is rebuilding its soul, although many may not realize it now, I'm sure they'll all come to thank him later.”

Indeed, the winds of revival are blowing through the PDP; from the national to the zonal levels. Across the South South, although many may have left, the message of unity, renewal, and service is gaining fresh momentum, anchored on a generation of leaders who still believe in the ideals of the party.

For Bayelsa, Hon. George Turnah is that leader: a steady hand at the helm and a voice of assurance in uncertain times. And as he rightly declared, “For those who still have faith in the PDP, continue to hold on to faith, for joy is coming.”

Yes — joy is coming.
