Anyanwu Hails Ibadan Court Judgment, Says PDP Poised for Repositioning Ahead of 2027
Owerri, Imo State — The National Acting Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has described the recent judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan as a landmark ruling capable of repositioning the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a one-day summit organized to empower women of the PDP across the twenty-seven Local Government Areas of Imo State, Senator Anyanwu said the court’s decision has brought renewed clarity and stability to the party’s leadership structure.
According to him, the judgment has effectively cleared the path for the PDP to convene an all-inclusive national convention that will usher in a new, credible and widely accepted leadership for the party in Nigeria.
“The ruling of the Federal High Court in Ibadan is not just a victory for the PDP but a triumph for democracy and the rule of law. It provides a clear roadmap for our party to rebuild, reorganize and reposition itself as a formidable opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections,” Anyanwu said.
He urged party leaders, stakeholders and members across the country to close ranks and embrace unity, stressing that internal cohesion remains the strongest weapon for the party’s resurgence.
“The PDP must rise above internal divisions and personal interests. This is the time for reconciliation, collective responsibility and a renewed commitment to the ideals of our party. Only a united PDP can effectively serve as a viable alternative for Nigerians,” he added.
The summit, which drew women leaders and stakeholders from across the state, focused on strengthening women’s participation in party politics and enhancing their roles in the rebuilding process of the PDP.
Participants at the event echoed the call for unity and reconciliation, urging party members at all levels to work together in the collective interest of the party and the nation.
The summit ended with a renewed commitment to unity, reconciliation and collective responsibility among members of the PDP as the party moves towards a new phase of reorganization and consolidation.
