Breaking- Malami, two others granted bail in the sum of 500 million naira each
The federal high court has granted bail to the former Attorney General of the federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and two others in the sum of 500 million naira each and two sureties each in like sum.
The trial court while delivering ruling in the bail application filed by the defendants, noted that the sureties must own landed properties in the Maitama, Asokoro and gwarinpa axis of the federal capital territory.
The court added that the defendants must submit their travelling documents to the court and remain at the Kuje correctional center pending the determination of their bail application.
The case has been adjourned to the 17th of February, for trial.
The trial judge however warns parties in the matters and litigants not to approach the court while the matter is ongoing.
Earlier, EFCC officials harassed journalists and denied them access to the courtroom just as the court was about to rule on the bail application of former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami.
This incident adds to growing concerns, as EFCC operatives have continued to flood the Federal High Court despite the court’s earlier ruling that Malami be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the determination of his bail application.
