ELEBELE MONARCH MOURNS LATE BAYELSA DEPUTY GOVERNOR, EWHRUDJAKPO
Elebele, Bayelsa State — The Paramount Ruler of Elebele Community, His Royal Highness David Osene Osene (Ogbolo XI), has expressed profound grief over the passing of the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State and Chief of Elebele Community, Late Chief Senator Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo, Ogimomema II of Elebele Community, a title interpreted as “Community Builder.”
Speaking on behalf of the traditional institution and the entire people of Elebele Community, HRH David Osene Osene described the late Deputy Governor as a distinguished statesman, visionary leader, and bridge-builder whose immense contributions to governance, peace, and community development in Bayelsa State and beyond will remain indelible in the hearts of the people.
According to the monarch, the conferment of the revered chieftaincy title, “Ogimomema II of Elebele Community,” on the late Deputy Governor was a recognition of his uncommon commitment to unity, grassroots development, and the advancement of the Niger Delta region.
He noted that Chief Ewhrudjakpo’s leadership style, humility, and passion for the people endeared him to communities across Bayelsa State, where he played critical roles in strengthening democratic governance, fostering peaceful coexistence, and promoting inclusive development.
The Paramount Ruler further conveyed heartfelt condolences to His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State; the government and people of Bayelsa State; the people of Sagbama Local Government Area, particularly the good people of Ofoni Community; and the bereaved family, describing the demise as a monumental loss not only to Bayelsa State but to the entire Niger Delta.
“His death is a monumental loss not only to Bayelsa State but to the entire Niger Delta region,” the monarch stated, adding that the legacy of service, unity, and community development left behind by the late Deputy Governor would continue to inspire generations.
HRH David Osene Osene (Ogbolo XI) prayed that God Almighty grants the soul of the departed eternal rest and gives the family, the government, and the people of Bayelsa State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The Elebele monarch also called on leaders and citizens across the state to uphold the ideals of unity, selfless service, and community development which the late Chief Senator Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo represented throughout his lifetime.
