GGM Visits Team Fred Political Movement, Moves to Strengthen Grassroots Support for Tinubu, Ogbuku
Otuoke, Bayelsa State — The state leadership of the Grassroots Galvanization Movement (GGM) has paid a courtesy visit to the leader of the Team Fred Political Movement, Hon. Sir Fred Ademe, at his residence in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, in a move aimed at strengthening political collaboration and grassroots mobilization in the state.
The GGM delegation was led by its Director-General, Hon. Ebisele Azibalua Oyabara, who described the visit as part of the Movement’s ongoing efforts to build strategic alliances with credible political stakeholders committed to the development of Bayelsa State and the Niger Delta region.
Addressing his host, Hon. Oyabara explained that the GGM is a socio-political support movement and a frontline support structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with a keen interest in promoting people-oriented leadership and supporting the transformational leadership of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), High Chief Samuel Ogbuku, PhD.
According to him, the choice of Hon. Sir Fred Ademe for the visit was informed by his proven record of leadership, grassroots influence, and political consistency.
“Out of the millions of allies working assiduously in support of the NDDC boss, Hon. Sir Fred Ademe stands out as a tested and trusted leader. Our meeting today is not a mere political alignment, but a divine providence,” Oyabara stated.
He further outlined the Movement’s roadmap towards mobilizing massive grassroots support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC, and the leadership of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku at the NDDC, stressing that the GGM is committed to taking its message to every nook and cranny of Bayelsa State.
The GGM Director-General also highlighted Hon. Ademe’s contributions to community development and political mobilization, particularly his impactful service as Youth President of Otuoke and his strategic role during the last general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the Movement, the Secretary of GGM, Dr. John Ebi Gold, described Hon. Ademe as a frontline actor in the political dynamics of Ogbia, noting that the Movement believes in partnering with credible leaders who have demonstrated commitment to the collective interest of the people.
Members of the delegation further emphasized that the GGM is an inclusive movement that transcends ethnic and indigene divides, noting that non-indigenes are fully involved in its activities, particularly in supporting the developmental strides of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku at the NDDC.
“We are behind you and ready to support you and your principal. We are fully prepared to give all necessary support to Dr. Samuel Ogbuku,” the delegation affirmed.
In his response, Hon. Sir Fred Ademe expressed deep appreciation to the GGM leadership for the visit and the recognition accorded him.
“When light is on the mountain, it does not go dim; it brightens everywhere. When a dancer dances, he may not see how he dances, but others do,” Ademe said, describing the visit as a great honour.
He further noted that divine timing plays a crucial role in leadership and success.
“When God says your time has come, no one can stop you. The same way you saw me from afar is the same way the MD of NDDC saw me and decided to empower and support me,” he stated.
Hon. Ademe also used the occasion to reflect on his political journey, revealing that he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 due to what he described as the party’s failure to protect the general interest of the people.
He praised the impact of former Governor Chief Timipre Sylva’s administration on Otuoke, noting that Sylva’s passion for the community influenced his decision to support the APC during the 2023 general elections.
“President Tinubu became President and appointed a young, vibrant Ogbia son as the Managing Director of the NDDC. That is why we must support him,” Ademe added.
He assured the GGM delegation of his unwavering support, describing Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as a result-oriented leader who rewards commitment and performance.
“You have not made the wrong choice. I will deliver your message to my principal and stand with you to ensure your objectives are realized,” he said.
The meeting ended with a joint resolution by both the GGM leadership and the Team Fred Political Movement to synergize efforts towards mobilizing massive grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC, and the Managing Director of the NDDC, High Chief Samuel Ogbuku, PhD.
The alliance marks a significant step in the evolving political landscape of Bayelsa State, as grassroots movements and political actors increasingly align to shape the future of governance and development in the state and the Niger Delta region.
