GEORGE TURNAH CELEBRATES GOVERNOR DIRI ON 6TH YEAR IN OFFICE ANNIVERSARY
The Zonal Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), South South Zone, and Acting Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa State, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, has congratulated the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, on the occasion of his sixth year anniversary in office.
In a statement issued on Saturday by Kelvin Loveday-Egbo, his Media Assistant to commemorate the milestone, Turnah described Governor Diri’s six years of stewardship as a period defined by purposeful leadership and steady progress in governance across Bayelsa State. He commended the governor’s commitment to sustaining peace, advancing infrastructural development, and promoting inclusive governance in the state.
According to him, Governor Diri has consistently demonstrated resilience, prudence, and a deep sense of responsibility in the management of state affairs, particularly in challenging times, while fostering unity and strengthening democratic institutions.
“Happy 6th Year in Office Anniversary, our dear Miracle Governor. May God continue to grant you good health, wisdom and divine strength, and help you to finish strong. Greater and better days ahead.”
While expressing confidence that the administration would consolidate on its achievements and deliver more dividends of democracy to the people, Turnah advised the governor to prioritise human capital development in the remaining years of his tenure.
He urged the state government to focus on sustainable wealth creation for the overall prosperity and wellbeing of Bayelsans, in line with the ASSURED PROSPERITY AGENDA of the administration. According to him, this could be achieved through deliberate development of strong institutions and robust investment in social security programmes.
“Lifting our people out of poverty is a task that must be done,” the statement noted.
The PDP chieftain reaffirmed his continued support for the administration towards the overall good of Bayelsa State and expressed optimism about greater milestones in the years ahead.
