TURNAH CONGRATULATES DR. PETER AKPE, SAYS BAYELSA WILL BENEFIT FROM HIS EXPERIENCE AS NEW DEPUTY GOVERNOR
Yenagoa, Bayelsa State - The Zonal Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South South Zone, and Acting Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa State, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, has congratulated Dr. Peter Akpe on his swearing-in as the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State.
In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by his Media Assistant, Kelvin Loveday-Egbo, Turnah described Dr. Akpe’s emergence as a well-earned elevation that reflects his years of dedicated service, administrative competence, and loyalty to the state.
He noted that the new Deputy Governor has consistently demonstrated humility, capacity, and a deep understanding of governance, adding that such qualities would significantly complement the leadership of Governor Douye Diri.
According to Turnah, Bayelsans can expect renewed energy and strengthened collaboration in governance, as Dr. Akpe settles into his new role. He expressed confidence that the Deputy Governor would provide strategic support to the administration and help accelerate development across the state.
“Your swearing-in marks another important chapter in the political and developmental journey of our dear state. I am confident that your wealth of experience and calm disposition will greatly enhance service delivery and deepen the dividends of democracy to our people,” Turnah stated.
He further urged Dr. Akpe to remain steadfast, people-oriented, and committed to policies and programmes that uplift the grassroots and consolidate the achievements already recorded by the present administration.
Turnah also prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and good health for the new Deputy Governor as he assumes the responsibilities of office, expressing optimism that his tenure would be impactful and beneficial to the overall progress of Bayelsa State.
The congratulatory message adds to the growing goodwill from political stakeholders following Dr. Akpe’s inauguration as Deputy Governor.
