BAYELSA PDP SET FOR STATE CONGRESS, SECRETARIAT COMMISSIONING, INAUGURATION/SWEARING-IN OF ELECTED OFFICIALS MARCH 14

Yenagoa, Bayelsa - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has called on members, supporters, and the general public to join the party this Saturday, March 14, 2026, for its State Congress, the commissioning of its new State Secretariat, and the inauguration and swearing in of all elected Ward, LGA and State Executive Committee members of the Party.

The event, which marks a significant milestone in the party’s ongoing internal reorganization, is expected to bring together party leaders, delegates, stakeholders, and supporters from across the state and beyond.

The State Congress will elect members of the State Executive Committee, as part of the PDP’s nationwide congresses aimed at strengthening party structures and deepening internal democracy ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A major highlight of the occasion will be the commissioning of the newly completed Bayelsa PDP State Secretariat, a development party leaders say symbolizes the party’s commitment to institutional growth, unity, and effective coordination of its activities within the state.

The programme will also feature the Inauguration and swearing-in of all elected Ward, Local Government Area (LGA), and State Executive Committee members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Bayelsa State.

Acting Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa State, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, described the event as a major step in repositioning the party for greater political engagement and electoral success.

He called on party faithful across the eight local government areas of the state to turn out in large numbers to witness what he described as a historic moment in the party’s journey.

He further encouraged youths and women to continue to take active roles in the leadership and decision-making processes of the party as it strengthens its structures at all levels.

The Bayelsa PDP leader expressed optimism that the State Congress, the commissioning of the new secretariat and the Inauguration and swearing in of all elected Ward, LGA and State Executive Committee members will further consolidate the party’s unity, strengthen its grassroots base, and enhance its preparedness as political activities gradually build toward the 2027 general elections.
