PDP Releases Schedule of Activities for National Convention
Abuja - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released the official schedule of activities leading to its forthcoming national convention, outlining a series of meetings and processes designed to ensure a smooth and transparent exercise.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the PDP said the activities will commence on Thursday, March 19, 2026, with the publication of the Convention Committees.
According to the schedule, the inauguration of all convention committees will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., with the venue to be announced by the party leadership.
The statement further indicated that the Zoning Committee will meet on Sunday, March 22, 2026, to deliberate on zoning arrangements ahead of the convention.
An Emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting has also been slated for Monday, March 23, 2026, at 12 noon at the FCT Minister’s Lodge, Life Camp in Abuja.
The party also announced that the sale of nomination forms to aspirants will commence on Monday, March 23, and end on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, with the sale closing at exactly 3:00 p.m.
Screening of all aspirants is scheduled to hold on Thursday, March 26, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., while the hearing of appeals from aspirants will also take place the same day, ending at 7:00 p.m.
As part of the activities preceding the main convention, the PDP will host a pre-convention cocktail on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the FCT Minister’s Lodge, Life Camp, Abuja. The event will be strictly by invitation.
The party leadership reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a credible and orderly convention process that will further strengthen internal democracy and unity within the party.
