Yenagoa - The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, has congratulated the newly elected members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), expressing confidence in their ability to reposition the party for greater success.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Media Assistant, Kelvin Loveday-Egbo, Turnah specifically congratulated the new National Chairman, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, and Deputy National Chairman, Hon. Aaron Chukwuemeka, describing their emergence as a reflection of the party’s commitment to strong and purposeful leadership.
He also commended Senator Samuel Anyanwu on his emergence as National Secretary, noting that his experience and dedication would further strengthen the party’s administrative structure.
Turnah expressed particular delight over the emergence of Bayelsa-born Hon. Efere Augustine as Deputy National Organising Secretary, describing it as a proud moment for the state and a testament to the growing relevance of Bayelsa within the PDP.
The Bayelsa PDP Chairman stated that the successful conduct of the National Elective Convention has placed the party on a clear path toward reclaiming its glory days, adding that the new leadership is well-positioned to drive unity, discipline, and electoral success.
He extended special appreciation to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and National Leader of the party, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, for what he described as his critical role in stabilizing the PDP and ensuring the success of the convention.
Turnah also commended members of the Convention Organizing Committee, subcommittees, delegates, party officials, and faithful across the country for their commitment and contributions, noting that their collective efforts underscore the resilience and strength of the PDP.
He further expressed pride in the Bayelsa PDP family for their strong and visible presence at the convention, emphasizing that their participation highlights the state’s strategic importance within the party.
According to him, the outcome of the convention has better positioned the PDP ahead of future electoral contests across the country.
Turnah, however, called on members who may have left the party to return, stressing that the PDP is now more united, structured, and prepared to move forward.
There is growing optimism within the party following the successful convention, with expectations that the new leadership will consolidate gains and reposition the PDP as a formidable force in Nigeria’s political landscape.
