BAYELSA PDP ANNOUNCES 99TH SEC MEETING, SETS AGENDA FOR PARTY REPOSITIONING

Yenagoa - The Bayelsa State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced plans to convene its 99th State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the party’s structure and reposition it ahead of future political engagements.


According to an official notice issued by the State Working Committee and signed by the State Secretary, Hon. Ato Alfreder Ebibofayei, the series of meetings will commence on Thursday, April 16, 2026, with a State Working Committee (SWC) meeting scheduled for 10am, followed by an Expanded State Caucus meeting at 2pm.


The activities will culminate in the 99th State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting slated for Friday, April 17, 2026, at 10am, to be held at the party’s new State Secretariat located along Isaac Adaka Boro Expressway, by Timikon Gas Station, Okutukutu, Yenagoa.

The party disclosed that the meeting, convened in line with the provisions of Article 24(3) of its 2017 Constitution (as amended), will deliberate on critical issues including the recently concluded 2026 elective congresses, the overall state of the party across all levels in Bayelsa State, and other matters central to the survival, unity, and progress of the PDP.


The meeting will bring together key stakeholders and leaders of the party in the state, providing a platform for strategic discussions and decisions aimed at consolidating the PDP’s position as a dominant political force in Bayelsa.


Attendance at the meeting is strictly by invitation and limited to members eligible under Article 24(1) of the party’s constitution.


The leadership of the party has called on members to remain committed and united as the PDP continues its drive toward internal cohesion, grassroots strengthening, and preparation for upcoming electoral activities in the state and across the country.
