PDP Appoints Yom Omonisom as Executive Assistant to Bayelsa State Chairman
Yenagoa - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has announced the appointment of Mr. Yom Omonisom as Executive Assistant (EA) to the State Chairman, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was approved by the State Chairman as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the operational capacity of his office and enhance the coordination of party activities across the state.
In a statement issued on Monday, the party noted that the appointment underscores its commitment to efficiency, strategic engagement, and administrative effectiveness, particularly as it continues to reposition its structures for greater impact.
Mr. Omonisom is bringing to the role a rich blend of experience drawn from the banking sector, public service, and political communication.
He has worked with notable financial institutions and has served in various capacities within the PDP, including as a spokesperson in several political campaign councils.
His experience in governance is further highlighted by his previous roles as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Bayelsa State and Special Adviser at the federal level.
According to the statement, Omonisom will play a key role in supporting the State Chairman in coordinating official engagements, streamlining administrative processes, and strengthening communication and stakeholder relations within and outside the party.
Hon. Turnah expressed strong confidence in Omonisom’s competence, dedication, and wealth of experience, noting that his appointment will significantly boost the effectiveness of the Chairman’s office and contribute to the continued growth and stability of the PDP in Bayelsa State.
He charged the new Executive Assistant to discharge his duties with diligence, loyalty, and a high sense of responsibility in line with the vision and objectives of the party.
The appointment has been well received by party stakeholders, who view it as a strategic move aimed at consolidating the party’s leadership structure and enhancing its engagement with members and the public.
