TURNAH CONGRATULATES NEW INC PRESIDENT, HAILS OKABA’S LEGACY OF COURAGE AND INDEPENDENCE

Yenagoa - The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, has congratulated High Chief MacDonald Igbadiwei on his emergence as President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), alongside members of his newly elected Executive Committee.


In a goodwill message signed by Kelvin Loveday-Egbo, his Media Assistant, Hon. Turnah described the emergence of the new leadership as a reflection of the collective will of the Ijaw people, expressing confidence in their capacity to advance the ideals, unity, and aspirations of the Ijaw nation.


He urged the newly elected leadership of the INC to remain steadfast in upholding the dignity, sanctity, and overall interest of the Ijaw people at all times, emphasizing the need for principled leadership, unity of purpose, and unwavering commitment to the protection and advancement of the collective aspirations of the Ijaw nation both at home and in the diaspora.


Turnah equally payed glowing tribute to the outgoing President, Professor Benjamin Okaba, whom he described as a courageous and principled leader that championed the true independence and integrity of the INC and the Ijaw nation.


According to him, Prof. Okaba’s tenure will remain a reference point for firm, selfless, and visionary leadership.


The Bayelsa PDP Chairman called on the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), as well as other socio-cultural bodies, student groups, and trade unions across the state, to draw strength from the leadership example of Prof. Okaba by upholding independence, firmness, and self-determination in their respective organizations.


He reiterated the commitment of the PDP in Bayelsa State to supporting initiatives that promote the collective interest, progress, and empowerment of the Ijaw people.
