BAYELSA EAST PDP SENATORIAL CANDIDATE, ATEKI JOSEPH, VOWS PEOPLE-DRIVEN REPRESENTATION; HAILS TURNAH’S INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP
Bayelsa - The candidate of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Bayelsa East Senatorial District in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, Hon. Chief Barr. Ateki Joseph, has pledged to usher in a new era of purposeful and people-oriented legislative representation for the people of Bayelsa East Senatorial District.
Speaking shortly after emerging victorious at the PDP Senatorial Primary, Barr. Ateki expressed profound gratitude to party stakeholders and supporters across the district for the confidence reposed in him, assuring that he would justify the trust through quality representation and effective legislative engagement.
The Bayelsa East PDP flagbearer stated that his aspiration and eventual emergence as candidate were driven by a sincere desire to attract meaningful development to the senatorial district, particularly the local government areas of Ogbia, Nembe, and Brass, while also contributing positively to the growth and advancement of Bayelsa State as a whole.
According to him, the people of Bayelsa East deserve a representation that is accessible, responsive, and committed to addressing their pressing needs through impactful legislation, empowerment initiatives, and strategic developmental partnerships.
“I am deeply humbled by the overwhelming support and confidence shown to me by leaders and members of our great party across Bayelsa East. This victory is not mine alone; it belongs to the people of Ogbia, Nembe, and Brass who yearn for purposeful representation and sustainable development,” he stated.
Barr. Ateki further expressed optimism over the chances of the PDP in the forthcoming general elections, stressing that the party remains deeply rooted in the hearts of Bayelsans due to its enduring legacy of development, unity, and people-oriented governance.
He also used the opportunity to commend the leadership of the PDP in Bayelsa State, particularly the State Chairman, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, for what he described as exceptional leadership, fairness, inclusivity, and commitment to strengthening internal democracy within the party.
According to Hon. Chief Barr. Ateki Joseph, the leadership style of Turnah has restored confidence among party faithful and created an atmosphere where all aspirants and stakeholders are given equal opportunities without discrimination.
He noted that the PDP leadership in the state has set a commendable standard capable of repositioning the party for greater victories, while also preserving unity and cohesion among members.
“The current leadership of our party under Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, has brought a refreshing sense of inclusiveness, fairness, and transparency. He has demonstrated uncommon leadership capacity and has worked tirelessly to keep the party united, strong, and alive in Bayelsa State,” Ateki added.
The PDP candidate reaffirmed his commitment to carrying everyone along in the journey ahead and called on party faithful, supporters, youths, women, and stakeholders across Bayelsa East to remain united and focused ahead of the 2027 general elections.
