Olorogun Ovoke Idogun Brings Hope to Patients in Delta Hospitals
By Rejoice Ighoviroro
Delta State - Patients at Government Hospital Agbarho and the newly commissioned Tobore Oborevwori Cottage Hospital in Ughelli were filled with joy and gratitude on Sunday, May 17, 2026, following a humanitarian visit by renowned philanthropist and political mobiliser, Olorogun (Dr.) Ovoke Idogun.
The founder of the Ovoke Idogun Foundation and National Coordinator of the Father Abraham Movement (FAM) for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited the hospitals to offer support to sick and vulnerable patients battling rising medical expenses and difficult health conditions.
Moving from ward to ward, Olorogun Idogun prayed with patients, shared words of encouragement, distributed daily devotionals, and provided financial assistance to offset hospital bills and treatment costs for several beneficiaries.
The visit brought emotional scenes as many patients and their relatives expressed relief and appreciation for the unexpected intervention during a period of economic hardship and increasing healthcare costs.
Speaking during the outreach, Idogun reiterated his commitment to humanitarian service and community support, stressing the need to continually uplift the less privileged and vulnerable in society.
Through the Ovoke Idogun Foundation, the philanthropist has over the years sustained various empowerment programmes targeted at widows, the elderly, and disadvantaged persons across Delta State and beyond. The foundation has also undertaken food distribution initiatives, cash support programmes, and skills acquisition schemes aimed at improving livelihoods.
Aside from his humanitarian activities, Idogun has remained a prominent political mobiliser as the National Coordinator of the Father Abraham Movement, a support platform dedicated to promoting the leadership vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through grassroots engagement and policy advocacy.
However, during the hospital outreach, humanitarian service took centre stage as beneficiaries described the intervention as timely and life-changing.
One of the patients, overwhelmed with emotion, described the visit as “an angelic intervention,” thanking God and the Ovoke Idogun Foundation for easing the burden of medical expenses.
The outreach demonstrates the critical role private foundations and public-spirited individuals continue to play in complementing government efforts within Nigeria’s healthcare sector, particularly in addressing challenges associated with out-of-pocket medical costs.
At the Tobore Oborevwori Cottage Hospital, named after the First Lady of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, patients and health workers alike commended the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of compassionate leadership and genuine concern for humanity.
As the outreach concluded, many beneficiaries left with renewed hope, prayers, and gratitude, while Olorogun Ovoke Idogun’s actions once again reinforced the growing reputation of the Ovoke Idogun Foundation as a vehicle for compassion, service, and social impact in Delta State and beyond.
