GEORGE TURNAH URGES FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO EXPAND TANTITA'S MANDATE TO DEEPEN YOUTH EMPOWERMENT, PEACE AND SECURITY IN THE NIGER DELTA REGION

.....COMMENDS COMPANY'S IMPACT AT JOSENIHO KIDS FOOTBALL LEAGUE FINAL

Abuja - The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bayelsa State, Hon. Chief Alabh George Turnah, Esq. (MON), has called on the Federal Government to expand the operational scope and capacity of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, describing the company as a model of effective corporate social responsibility whose interventions have significantly contributed to youth empowerment, peacebuilding, sustainable development and security across the Niger Delta.

According to a statement pushed out by Kelvin Loveday-Egbo, his Media Assistant, Turnah made the call on Sunday while speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2026 Joseniho Kids Football League in Abuja.

He commended the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief (Engr.) Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, for the company's sustained investment in initiatives that positively engage young people and promote peaceful coexistence.

According to Turnah, Tantita has gone beyond its statutory responsibility of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure by deliberately investing in programmes that develop human capacity, redirect youthful energy towards productive ventures, and create opportunities for the next generation.

He noted that the company's carefully designed corporate social responsibility initiatives have become a major factor in reducing criminality, restiveness, and insecurity across the Niger Delta, while restoring hope and confidence among thousands of young people.

"The impact of Tantita Security Services extends far beyond pipeline surveillance. The company is deliberately building the capacity of young people, promoting peaceful coexistence, creating opportunities, and restoring hope across the Niger Delta. These strategic investments in human capital have contributed immensely to the remarkable decline in criminality and insecurity within the region. This model deserves greater support and expansion by the Federal Government," Turnah stated.

The Bayelsa PDP Chairman also applauded the organisers of the Joseniho Kids Football League, particularly its vision bearer, Mr. Victor Isereke, for creating a platform that enables children to discover and nurture their talents from an early age.

He described the annual competition as a worthy investment in the future, noting that initiatives such as the league help instill discipline, teamwork, resilience, and self-confidence while exposing young talents to greater opportunities in football and beyond.

Turnah paid special tribute to the young football sensation, Jose Alabh Isereke (Joseniho), after whom the tournament is named, describing him as a gifted football prodigy with enormous potential.

"Joseniho is my godson, and I am genuinely proud of his remarkable development in football. Working closely with his family, I will continue to support efforts to expose him to greater opportunities, quality training, and international football development programmes that will help him attain his full potential," he said.

He further urged governments at all levels, corporate organisations, and well-meaning Nigerians to emulate initiatives that promote sports development and youth empowerment, stressing that investing in children today remains one of the most effective ways of securing Nigeria's future.

Turnah congratulated the organisers, participating teams, parents, coaches, and sponsors for the successful hosting of the tournament and expressed optimism that the Joseniho Kids Football League would continue to discover and produce outstanding football talents capable of representing Nigeria with distinction on the continental and global stage.
