BAYELSA PDP WELCOMES SOLOMON IKPAKA FROM NDC, SAYS HIS DECISION REFLECTS PARTY'S GROWING INFLUENCE


Yenagoa, Bayelsa State - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bayelsa State, has welcomed Comrade Solomon Charles Ikpaka, a former House of Assembly aspirant for Ekeremor Constituency III, into the party, describing his decision to join the PDP as a significant addition to the party’s growing political family. Ikpaka, who recently resigned his membership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), formally joined the PDP following his decision to chart a new political course. His resignation from the NDC was conveyed in a letter dated September 19, 2026, addressed to the Chairman of Eduwini Ward I, Ekeremor Local Government Area.


The Bayelsa PDP said Ikpaka’s arrival has again restated the continuing political conversations taking place across the state and the attraction of the PDP as a platform for political participation, inclusion and service to the people.


The Bayelsa PDP Chairman, High Chief (Hon.) Alabh George Turnah MON, Esq., assured Ikpaka and his supporters that the PDP remains committed to accommodating members from diverse political backgrounds and providing a platform where every member can contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Bayelsa State. Turnah congratulated Ikpaka on his decision and urged him to bring his experience, grassroots connections and commitment to public service to the collective work of the party.
