Nigeria At 66: There’s Hope for Nigeria, Oghotomo Tells Nigerians
Delta State - The Executive Assistant on Community Development to the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Hon. Samuel Oghotomo, has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to the development of the country, assuring that Nigeria’s present challenges are only a temporary phase and not the end of the nation’s journey.
Oghotomo, in a message to Nigerians on the occasion of Her 66th Independence urged citizens to keep hope alive and continue to work collectively towards building a better and more prosperous Nigeria.
According to him, the difficulties confronting the nation at present should be viewed as a bend in the road rather than the end of the journey.
“There is hope for Nigeria. I urge all Nigerians to keep hope alive and work towards a better Nigeria. Whatever is happening now is just a bend and not the end for our country,” he said.
The Delta State Governor’s aide stressed the importance of patriotism and collective responsibility in the task of nation-building, urging Nigerians to take ownership of the country and contribute positively to its growth.
He appealed to citizens to care for Nigeria as they would care for their own land, noting that the country remains the collective home of all Nigerians and that there is no alternative homeland.
Oghotomo maintained that meaningful development cannot be achieved by government alone, but requires the active participation, sacrifice and commitment of citizens across different sectors.
He therefore encouraged Nigerians to remain united, resilient and optimistic, while continuing to play their individual roles in promoting peace, development and national progress.
He expressed confidence that with sustained commitment, responsible citizenship and a collective determination to overcome present challenges, Nigeria would emerge stronger and better.
“Let us care for this country as our own land because we do not have another nation,” Oghotomo added.
